A study investigating the effects of food containing pine bark extract on capillary blood flow has been published in Food and Nutrition Sciences.

The capillaroscope GOKO Bscan-ZD, software for velocity measurement GOKO-VIP, and software for advanced image analysis and measurement GOKO Measure Plus were used for capillary observation and image analysis.

After eight weeks, capillary blood flow velocity was reported to be significantly higher in the active food group than in the placebo group.
